Hi All,

i seem to be badly stuck at this problem. Single host has both netweaver and xi. i have finished the j2ee configuration also. I missed doing a client copy. This is just a test machine.

Do i have to do a client copy to be able to do the ale settings for idoc transfers. if no then what do i need to do for the configuration part where i create 2 logical systems..one for xi and one for r/3 what client can i assign to xi ..as the 000 client is already taken by the r/3 system.

Can someone please help.

Regards

Ravi

HI,

Creating the client and copy the 000 client to another created client is for ALE settigns ok, but in XI, that may not be useful..

tell me the exact requirement

Chilla,

The requirement is to configure a single machine as a xi test bed with netweaver and xi as this is to test run some scenario`s for a couple of xi developers. This will never go to production, later on to be used for training.

Hi Ravi

Yours is a test machine. What can you do is create additional clients so that you can configure ALE can transfer Idocs between thenm.

Create , say 2 more clients,

Client 333

Client 555

Now create 2 logical systems and assign these logical systems to the above created 2 clients respectively.

Now you can define RFC if you need and continue with the ALE configuration.

I feel that now you will be able to configure the settings required for r/3 & xi and perform the transfer.

Sumit,

i have tried doing exactly the steps described...except since i havent done a client copy..when i am in transaction idx2 for the idoc metadata..it fails at trying to do a remote login..and hence will not let me complete that part...so i go back to square one of the problem..

Has this scenario never been encountered..is there no-one at sdn who can help with this.

Hi

Check out the parameters that you are specifying in the configuration. There must be some problem with them.
