How can I set a default checkbox in the Material Master

Depending on the material type, I want to have the checkbox for batch management in the Purchasing view set. It is now default unchecked and it needs to be checked.

Any suggestions?

Could someone detail the use of tcode SHDG ? Previous explanations still result unclear for me : Is there a userguide somewhere ? I also need to activate by defaut the batch management flag for a given plant and material type.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply. However, it is not a matter of making a field mandatory, optional etc but it is a matter of having a default value for a specific field. This particular field MARA-XCHPF is a checkbox saying whether batch management is active or not.

I would like to do the same as you : during product creation (MM01), I would like that this field is checked by default for FERT product.

Hi,

Dipak has given TWO solutions that work.

These are the only safe way to achieve this and so I wouldn't recommend a modification.

Surely you can use Dipak's excellent suggestions?

Hi ,

First check the field selection group through tcode - OMSR .

Then go to oms9 , there put the field selection group no at the top , and in below set the the option as per your requirement .
