Period split profile in APO DP

Does anyone have any experience of using the 'period split profile' in APO DP (transaction /SAPAPO/SDP_SPLIT) for releasing data from DP to SNP?

Specific question:

- is this profile just for handling how DP data is released in terms of time buckets <u>independently</u> of characteristics, or can the profile control the release at a <u>characteristic</u> level? For example, could I have weekly data in DP released across Mondays to Fridays for certain characteritsics, but released from Mondays to Sundays for certain other characteristics?
