SUM Tool File Deletions

I'm upgrading SOLMAN 7.1 to 7.2 using SUM 1.0 SP20 dual stack.

My question is, as I'm upgrading I continue to run out of space for my SUM directory. I have it stored in USR\SAP\SID\SUM. I know when the upgrade is completed, I can technically delete the entire SUM directory however, currently my SUM is at 60gbs and growing as im only still at the preprocessing phase. Are there files or logs that can be moved out into another directory as the tool continues to run so I can stop adding space to the volume. Sure its a VM and I can allocate but I can't shrink, so my if all my volumes grow by 100gb and after the upgrade, its wasted space. Just trying to see if options exist? I may just need to create another volume outside the SAP preferred path to run SUM I guess. Any ideas?

Hi Joshua,

technically it is possible when some phases are passed to move some files. Anyway I would not recommend it. Before this please check below:

1) Are the media located in the same directory? Move them away and set links to the provided download folder.
2) Is it possible to outsource the SUM logs? In this case move the /SUM/abap/log folder and set a link.
3) Are there other not yet used folders which can probably moved away, maybe a backup of a kernel directory?

Cheers,
Andreas
