Hi Monica,

In general middleware consultant handles all BDoc related issues. But from CRM functional point of view, it is mandatory to know frequently triggered BDocs in SMW01. This helps the consultant to negotiate with middleware consultant, if something doesn’t work. Using the transaction R3AC1 you should be able to see the bdoc attached to each replication object like material etc.

It is also sometimes essential to know, which FM is called for each bdoc. You can find this through the transaction SMW3FDCUST

Hi Monica,

Well it depends upon what are the activities you are doing in your system.

1> If you are changing/creating the customers in R/3 then the bdoc BUPA_MAIN will triggered.

2> if you are changing/creating contact person relationship then BUPA_REL will triggered.

3> If you are changing/creating Transactions then BUS_TRANS_MSG will get triggered.

and so on... so it will be better that you check the transaction SBDM & analyse all the bdocs. Also for day to day activity check the transaction SMW01 and see which all bdocs are triggered in your system.

Hi Monica,

BDocs are nothing but a data container which crm understands. So whenever you exchanged the data e.g receive the data from the externel system CRM converts the data into BDocs and then do the validation on those BDocs and persist the data into the database.

Bdocs are of two types:

a. Messaging Bdoc(MBdoc) : Used as Data container in CRM

b. Syncronization Bdoc(SBdoc) : For Data Synchronization with Mobile Applications

More about BDOC :

The definition of BDoc messages does not contain implementation details.

BDoc messages can be represented in various way.

Depending on the environment an optimal representation is used, e. g.

CRM Server : Internal tables

Laptops : ADO record sets

Non-SAP System : XML

You can see all the processed Bdocs in SMW01. All the Bdoc types you can see in the SBDM transaction.

Being a functional consultant you should be able to analyse the error Bdocs which is in status red.
