Open Item Management

Friends,

I want to activate open item management in an account having some balance. I have a fair idea about what needs to be done, but have the following doubts:

1) When we say ‘transfer’ the balance to a new G/L account, do we mean line item-wise transfer to the new a/c

2) SAP note 175960 states that the program RFSEPA02 is not supported from 4.5 onwards. Instead they have advised creation of a new program ZRFSEPA02 copied from RFSEPA02 with some changes. We are on 4.6C. Has anyone tried this?

3) Are there any pitfalls in thus activating open item management?
