Hi,
I am working for a FMCG client and there are no specific reporting requirements. Currently
they are using MSOLAP for queries so they have no specific query requirements. As the client
does not have specific reporting requirements, we are trying to identify a possible solution
to deliver all reports using a data model.
In this process,is it advisable to build all queries as Adhoc using Web Application
Designer? What are the advantages and more importantly the disadvatages of giving only Adhoc
queries to meet Reporting Requirements?
The client has purchased the licences for BI 7.0. So these queries will be on BI 7.0.
Thanks n Regards,
Rajeswari.
BI 7.0 will be the reporting front end for the project.

Rajeshwari,
If the client is using MSOLAP , then they could possibly expect Pivot table functionality as provided by MSOLAP ... you could export the data from BeX to Pivots - there is a how to paper onb the same on SDN...
Also do you intend sending the queries from WAD onto MSOLAP or the final reporting platform will be BI7 ?
Arun
hope it helps...
