Hi all,

I have a WBS element whose currency is GBP (local curr for that co code). When I try to key in amounts via CJR2, the system asks me to enter rates for curr type P. Is there any way around this or should we now maintain curr exch type P also?

Please help

Thanks

Brian

No I dont think so in actuals the system will use normal currency which is M in many projects.

But all postings in bot actual and plan, as you said will be kept in two currency.

So we will have to maintain exchange rates for P type...will that be the same monthly as curr type M rates?

No you dont need. But as i specify controlling keep values in controlling area currency and object currency. If they are the same, the system does not ask exchange rate but as they are different the system ask you to enter exchange rate in currecy table... I hope this helps...

Well reality is that the object curr is GBP and the Contr Area curr is USD...this is why the system is giving me this message....

I created another plan version for group val and it worked...but now my question is what about the actuals that were posted to another version..will that be displayed in this version also?

Sorry, I understand that you use two verison one for legal and the other for group valuation.

Then as the system always keep contolling area currency and object currency in controlling tables, you need to define exchange rate in which you use...

It is possible to plan your values in currency type 10 or in currency type 30. Why do you need another version ?

Well, the WBS I am planning in is curr GBP

When I enter planned cost via CJR2, the system gives me a message to enter the rates for curr exchange rate type P (USD/GBP).

I dont have a plan version for Group Valuation curr 30...do you think I need this?

In the version you enter the costs, you say which cuur type you use. This is controlling version configration.

Umut: I have one version that is marked as legal valuation ...cur type 10

and the other one is group valuation curr type 30....but this one is not marked to PLAN.

Is this the only way I can enter all plans in USD only or do I have to maintain curr type P in my exchange rate tables?

Please help

Thanks so much
