Hi,
working on a BI platform (and locally) I get no data from a Universe, that gets its data from a MSSQL DB 2008 via OLEDB. I fixed the problems with the OLEDB driver: COM Provider CLSID not specified or erroneous.
Now the ConnectionServer trace shows the following error: Uncaught Exception in SilentScope: CS::DBDriver_Connect: 0.007 Error=Error on Connect. the 0.00x number varies. Meanwhile the local execution throws an "unknown error ... sorry for the inconvenience" most of the time.
In Webi and IDT the Universes work as expected.
Any ideas out there?
Paul - can you publish the universe to the BI platform repository and then create an OLAP connection using the CMC, and then try using Design Studio with it?
Hi Tammy,
there is no way to create an OLAP connection to the DB-server within the CMC. The database server will refuse creating an OLAP connection in IDT as well.
Even an ODBC connection is not possible, due to missing ODBC drivers on the workstation.
The efashion universe works, as it is based on MS-Access files.
Hi Paul - one of the eFashion universes is based on MS Access; it is published to the BOE repository; is that a possibility for your universe?
Hi Tammy,
sorry for causing confusion. The connection and the universe are already published to the BOE repository. The configuration is as follows:
DWH-Server: MSSQL 2008 on a Windows Enterprise Server 2003 VM
BO-Server: BO 4.1 Edge with DS Add-on 1.6 SP4 PL 1 on a Windows Server 2012 R2 VM
Client: Design Studio 1.6 SP4 PL 1 on a Windows 7 professional 64bit system
Does that give you any clues for possible issues?
Hi Paul - I searched this error; there is an old 2014 thread that offers some troubleshooting steps: https://archive.sap.com/discussions/thread/3537166
Maybe review the thread to see if it helps?
Which SP of Edge are you on?
Hi Tammy, the connectionServer runs, so I proposed to to run the installer in repair mode. Any results of this will show next monday.
