Custom Transaction Types, Subject Profiles etc...

Hi all,

Did anyone worked on custom Transaction Type on SDCR?

I know that this is CRM specific stuff to configure, but want to check what are the implications in modifying exisiting SDCR.. Well, in the meanwhile, we need to work on custom Code Groups, Subject Profiles etc..

What is the impact on upgrades if we modify the SAP defined Transaction Types SDCR?

Please correct me if I am wrong in my approach.

Response is greately appreciated.

Regards,

Mike.

Never modify SAP basic stuff.

Just copy it to your own transaction, like ZDCR and modify that one as much as you like.

If something goes wrong, you still have a working default.

Thanks for response.

I tried to copy and modify the subject profiles, catalogs etc. I could able to create Change Request with the custom transaction type, but not able to authorize the change request. And I am using SAP defined action profile for custom transaction type.

And also little bit confused how to attach the custom change request to support message (we need to select the action item "create change document"). It seems there are lot of modifications to be done all the way from support message to urgent/normal correction.

Please advice.

Mike.

Check the <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_sm40/helpdata/en/cd/603542e454b104e10000000a1550b0/content.htm">roles</a> for Change Request.

A support message can be attached to a change request by creating a follow-up (change request) on the support message. After creating a follow-up the document flow will be updated.

To authorize a change request, don't use the user status, but use the action to authorize.

After authorizing, an change document will be created.

Hi Mike,

Your problem is I think, the action definitions. You probably have copied the Action Profile with it's Action Definitions isn't it?

If yes, check the start en scheduled conditions of the copied action definitions. When you copy the Action Profiles and Action Definition, the system doesnot copy the assigned start and scheduled conditions.

So compare your own one's with the SAP Standard.

Hi,

As far as I know, you can modify SDCR. When implementing support packages there should be no problem, as far as you do not activate the BC sets again.

What will happen during upgrade, I do not know.

But why modifying the standard SDCR and not copying to own namespace?

Kind regards,
