SOLMAN PREPARE_ACTIVATION "No business partner found for user XXXX in project XXXX"

We are in the process of upgrading our Solution Manager 7.1 SP14 to 7.2, so we're currently on the pre-upgrade tasks of the Content Activation process.

We ran transaction PREPARE_ACTIVATION, chose the solutions and performed the Consistency Check. It returned several errors and warnings so it won't let us continue the process until we're done correcting these issues.


All items marked as error show the same error "No business partner found for user XXXX in project XXXX". After some analysis we've realized there are several scenarios involved:

  • User no longer exists in USR02 (old user that was already deleted)
  • User exists in URS02 and in BP transaction
  • User no longer exists in USR02 but exists in BP transaction

Most of these users no longer exist because they were deleted long time ago as part of user security policies administration. We can't massively create hundreds of users and /or BPs that are no longer valid.

Could anybody please advice on what is the right way to proceed?

Hi, you can try the following:

create a new person with tcode BP.

Then add addiotional role 'employee'; enter the corresponding user name in the "ID" tab. It solved my warnings with the same message.
