FI Extraction doubt

Hi Gurus,

when you are doing the FI extraction for the first time ,

1>

Do have to specify/change the any setting in time stamp table (BWOM_TIME) , change record table (BWFI_AEDAT) and global setting table (BWOM_SETTING) ?

2>

Or can directlly start using the datasource without modifying time stamp tables ?

Can anyone help me in this
