Hi Experts,
I have to load the data from ZTable, Flex, BKPF tables. Most the fields which I want to extract those are available in 0FI_GL_4 but I have heard this is not useful with New Ledger set up.
Please suggest me how could I extract the data from these tables.
Thanks,
Kumar
You havwe 2 options.
1. Use both data sources old and new; one for line items and one for totals.
2. Write FM to code the extraction from tables FAGLFLEXA / FAGLFLEXT. as you cant use these tables as data source. I tried it did not work.

Hi,
1. Use both data sources old and new; one for line items and one for totals.
- when you say old that is 0FI_GL_4 and new one is generic on FAGLFLEXT table.
2. Write FM to code the extraction from tables FAGLFLEXA / FAGLFLEXT. as you cant use these tables as data source. I tried it did not work.
- Do we have any standard FM which reads the data from these FAGLFLEXA and FAGLFLEXT tables or do we need to create the new one.
Help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Kumar
Try to create a view and make it your data source. I tried it did not work.
There is no FM. You need to code.

SAP provides a set of extractors for the FlexT table. There is a specific one for the leading ledger and one that's more generic you can use for any ledger (including the leading ledger).
Find instructions here for activating the delivered extractors for the new GL:

As for the FLEXA table, you can setup a view over the table and create a generic datasource that uses the view to get the data from the table.
Hi Experts,
Thank you for your so far support and I understood the functionality of all the tables.
As per our requirements we need to use FAGLFLEXA, BKPF, BSEG and BSEG_ADD tables.
Now I have to go for the generic. As of now we do not need to transform the data but we have conditions involved in selecting the data from diff tables.
Please recommand one among View, Query and FM, which one is more suitable in our situation for building the Generic.
Your help would be appreciated greatly.
Thanks,
Kumar
Hi,
Finally I have decided to go for Function Module.
I have concern in this. I have standard extractors running daily. If I go for the function module for Generic then what about the delta mechanism. This is my concern because during the standard extractor selection delta being used and during my function module selection this delta selection may not work fine.
Please let me know what are the precautions I should take for delta mechanism and how could I handle deltas in my condition.
Your help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Kumar
I was able to create a datasource using an SAP Infoset.
1. Create an infoset for only table FAGLFLEXA (tcode SQ02) in source system. Make sure you check the box for 'no automatic text recognition' to avoid generating text fields. include all fields from the table.
2. Go to RSO2 and create a datasource using the infoset.. Save your datasource without generating the generic delta. Ignore warnings for currency fields and save. Your currency will still be extracted.
3. Go to your created data source in RSO2 and create Generic Delta. I used Timestamp field with 1800 for the upper limit setting. This should create a generic delta datasource.
Let me know if you have any questions. Good luck
its the not the fileds that play an important part in the extraction, rather the concerned table the datasource is extracting from. Try to extract data thru the gl4 datasource is if the numbers reconcile with the expected result. If not you might need to consider FAGLFLEXA(line items) or FAGLFLEXT(totals).
0FI_GL_4 is not a suitable datasource for the new ledger. Infact the new ledger doesnt have a delievered datsource for line items. It does have a datasource for totals, see if that might of use to you.
If that doesnt suit you would need to develop a generic extractor to extract from the ur tables or FAGLFLEXA.
