Increase company visibility to deter timewasters

The recent thread /thread/356788 [original link is broken] made me think of an idea:

How about making a person's company more prominent either by listing it underneath people's names inside the forum posts or even in the threads view.

This might add some sense of corporate responsibility to try to be more professional for the individual. More importantly it may take some of the burden of dealing with rogue posters off SDN as they would also be naming and shaming their company, adding a little incentive to the employers to keep their people in check.

Not sure how well it will work, but I though it worth throwing the idea out here. What do people think?

    I agree as well.

Make it mandatory to declare your company when registration and list it against evey post of the user. People will start acting in a responsible way after that.

You shouldn't make it mandatory, because there's no way to check if it's valid and it also stops people contributing who work for organizations that are not keen to share knowledge.

I believe the current process is quite adequate - the forum will look out for abuses...

I like the idea.. also how about using real names instead of aliases & assumed names.. hey, this is a site used by all of us for career advancement & not for just fooling around.. I don't see any valid reason for 'hiding'..
