Would any one address some of the Material management issues while going in live part ?

W.r.t. Go-live, Inital stock balances upload is vital activity. The errors in this activity influences the trial balance.

To ensure proper stock upload, stepwise activities:

1) You must freeze the template for collecting the stock balances on the cutover date.

2) Make ready the program (LSMW or BDC) for upload above.

3) Awareness to key users for collecting data.

4) Follow up for collection of data.

This activity must be ensured for all the stocks at all the locations. Care must be ensured to map the new org structures (storage loc, warehouse, sotrage type etc).

One main issue is master data validation bu bussiness

- upload open transactiopn like open PO, contract etc.

- condition records

- info records, source list update

- user settings

- user authorization is biggest issue like user have no authorization to change the PO or can create anything etc.

Hi ,

To add to Charlie's reply.

You can ask your businesss for a cut off date based on that you can upload open POs instead uploading all POs .

Condition records , you can leave with this .

User setting & user authorization is beggest head ache .. Just give the list to core user instead you fixing the roles and access otherwise this will lead your life to hell.

Upload of material master and vendor master is also a big challenge. You will always find these data in messy condition . So you can ask for its cleaning like removing duplicate data and all that. And more over you should not get involve in these activities . Ask you Core team to do ...instead you concentrate on conf part and TO - BE cases.
