Dear Experts,

How can I find out the residence and retention time of existing FI documents in the system(For example for FI documents(BKPF,BSEG tables)).

Is there any transaction or table available.

Thanks & Regards

First you have to be clear on the terms, residence time is the time the documents reside in the system (from creation date till archiving date) before you can archive those documents. And the retention time is the time from document creation until you can get rid of those documents from your archive.

So you often may see 1 or 2 years residence time while the retention time is 6, 10 or 50 years, depending on the document and legal country specific requirements.

In a standard ERP system you can only define the residence time. Because after you archive your documents they are no longer as documents in the ERP system. Retention time is then hopefully something that you can set in your archive system. In the ILM store it is possible.

You can see the residence time in the archiving object specific customizing in your SARA transaction
