Dear Gurus,
Please advice how to enter the data using web layouts into the BCS cube. I know that we cannot simply generate the layouts from BCS workbench like we can do using BPS0 for Business planning transactional cube, but I know that BCS also has this feature available to use web for entering transaction data.
Please advice.
Thanks
Abhinav
You can have transactional cube that supports BCS transactions. If you have that, then you can build BPS layouts and generate a web interface and enter data in this interface and when saved will update the BCS transactional cubes.

Hi Ravi,
I have a quick question about BCS.
Some of my companies are not on SAP and I am already loading data from SAP into a cube for other reports.
Is it possible for me to consolidate the Non-SAP companies with the SAP companies without loading the data directly through the normal ETL process in BW?
Thanks
Hi Jide,
BCS offers an own fexible upload which you could use for the non SAP companies, without BW ETL
you can create a BCS task for the BCS Monitor where you can load flatfiles.

for the SAP companies you can use the "Load from datastream" to load data from a BW Infoprovider:

I hope this answer is helpfull for you.
Dan's point is very valid one.
But Consolidation monitor progress activity can be monitored thru web. This has been done in my earlier project which was based on SEM 3.2.
But the question remains to be seen is how much web enabling BPC will bring in with regard to BCS transaction functions? I have BPC screencams ..will go thru in the weekend to update more on this.
Hello Abhinav,
your Cube has to be transactional.
If it's not you can change it using Report SAP_CONVERT_NORMAL_TRANS.
Then build an input-ready query, integrate it in a web template.
With that you can enter and save data in your cube.
Hope this helps,
Daniel
