DMS is Document Management System. It can be either implemented in R/3 or through KW. Other option is 3rd party software.

Hello, I think the fact that the client is running on ECC6.0 the logical reference would be to that of SAP DMS, (CA-DMS).

SAP DMS is a cross application componet, and thus is not installed, as it ships with the R/3 Core.

The transactions to use for DMS are:

    CV01n - Create

    CV02n - Change

    CV03n - Display

    CV04n - Find

You will need to do some configuration for DMS using transaction SPRO.

    Regards

DMS can requires db for it to store images/documents. I can be through KPRO. Nothing but a Content Server CD with has SAP DB or MAXDB to help store the data. And needs configuration to talk with SAP R/3. The common transactions are CSADMIN, OACT, OAC0.

Its a separate installation like normally installed of any software.
