Transport of SPAU ans SPDD Adjustments

Hi,

I am doing an ECC 6 upgrade on test server from source release R/3 4.7 Extension Set 200. Currently we are in SPDD phase. All object adjustments in this phase and SPAU will be saved in a transport request.

We will be starting pipeline upgrade of system landscape (i.e. DEV, QA and Production) after this test upgrade. I would like to know how these modification adjustments would be transported during pipeline upgrade of system landscape i.e. if this request can be given as an input during SAP upgrade process or whether this request would need to be transported in the post-upgrade phase.

When Upgrading the real DEV,QA & production scenario. The SPDD and SPAU adjustments can be done in Dev server and then can be transported to QA and Production. The SPDD adjustments in the dev server may be having lot of objects which will not be there in the QA and Production server since Dev also used as Sandbox client.

May be the SPDD adjustments you have to do duing ACT_640 phase and if you do not do it you may loose the inormation which it may contain. sometimes SPDD adjustments have to be done in each system during upgrade and SPAU can be done later.

But the best way to do the upgrade is first put all the SPAU adjustments in transport request and transport to QA and Production.

Thanks for your quick reply.

Please clarify whether these SPAU adjustments from test server (Copy of production server) have to be transported to QA and Production before upgrade, after upgrade or during the upgrade process.

When you're doing the first Upgrade, during the SPDD/SPAU phase, you need to do the SPDD/SPAU modification manually. At the end of the phase, you will save the changes in 2 transport request - one for SPDD changes and one for SPAU changes. And transport request names will also be saved in file 'usr/sap/put/binumodauto.lst' .

When you start the second upgrade:

1. During the PREPARE, please copy the file '/usr/sap/put/bin/umodauto.lst' in the first upgrade to the second system DUR_PUT/BIN. If the file exists, you should append.

2. Copy the datafiles to the second system;

3. Copy the cofiles to the second system;

4. To protect these TRs to be deleted whenTP clearold... command is executed, please run the commands for each TR:

tp addtobuffer <Transport> buffer=SAP

This way, the second upgrade will accept the changes in SPDD/SPAU automatically.
