Hi Vineeth,

RTP stands for Returnable Transport packaging.

for Example, if you are working in FMCG company like Pepsi or Cocacola, the bottles are sent in Crates to the Customer.

The Customer sends back the Crates to the Company once the Stock is Over.

So crates are RTP stocks.

Simillarly pallets on which the Materials are kept can be considered as RTP stocks depending upon the Business.

So Overall, the Packing Materials which can kept at our endor Customer end are RTP stocks, which donot count in Inventory stock.

Usually 501 movement type with Special indicator M is the Movement type that triggers for RTP stocks.

Hope this Clarifies to soe extent

Hi Vineeth

Returnable transport packaging (RTP) is a multi-trip packaging medium (for example, pallets or containers) in which goods can be transported more than once between vendors and customers.

In this there are two types.

1. Company's own special stock - Returnable packaging stock at customer

2. Externally-owned special stocks belonging to a vendor or customer that are

stored at your company.

We can use the following movement types

Initial entry of stock balances (movement types 561, 563)

Transfer posting from plant to plant in one step (301)

Transfer posting from material to material (309)
