Hi MDG Experts,

First, I am new to SAP MDG.

Can we use rule based workflows for Customer Master creation for example?.If yes, anyone please provide the detailed steps to configure the Customer creation using rule based workflow?.Looks like the out of box, It is using the standard workflows for customer master.

For Customer change request type CUST1P1 (create customer) I did the following configuration.

1. Change request type CUST1P1, I assigned the rule based workflow WS60800086.
2. Configure rule based workflow, I populated all the three BRF+ tables( Single Value, User agent and Non-user agent tables) with necessary entries.

When I tested this in NWBC, I was able to fill the customer information and submitted my change request. But when I try to approve, it didn't work.

What Configuration I am missing here? Anyonecan help?

Dear Mike

Of course you can use the RBW for customer master as for any other domain.

I just reproduced your scenario in my sandbox and it worked all fine for me.

Let me summarize what I have done.

  1. I have copied change request “CUST1P1” to a new change request “ZCUST1P1”. This way, you can avoid that you might loose changes that you have done on delivered content by SAP in case of updates. I then changed the WF to WS60800086.

  2. I have filled the BRF+ decision tables and activated them. In order that I did not have to start from scratch, I exported the tables from another change request delivered form SAP using the RBW WF (in my case it was change request MAT01). In BRF+, you can simply export & import the decision tables.

Export Decision tables form MAT01

Import Decision tables

You can modify the decision tables in excel before the import or in BRF+ after the import according to your requirements (change agents involved, adding/removing steps etc.)

After that, all worked fine for me. I guess that there is something not correctly set-up in your decision tables. You can find a very good ppt on how to set-up the BRF+ decision tables using following link.

I hope that helps, otherwise just let me know.

Best regards,

Fabian

Hi,

Can you please share the log of the workflow that you tested. Probably after that I might be able to help.

Thanks, Pavan

Hi Fabian,

Thanks a lot. Appreciated your valuable support. It worked.

Looks like the issue was the BRF+ table entries. I deleted the entries from BRF+ tables for CUST1P1 then re-loaded again and it worked.

Thanks
Jason
