Does anyone have experience with weigh counted parts such as fasteners and how they are inventoried in SAP?

If your supplier believes it is 1000, what do you do?

Do you believe or count it yourself?

If your vendor manages it by weight does not necessarily mean that you have to do the same, you define your base unit based in your local needs.

Is there eventually an agreed tolerance, such things are even in place for tank trucks with 25 tons of chemicals? Everything within the tolerance does not lead to a debit or credit note. You just receive what the vendor printed on his delivery note. And you either realize the small difference with a physical inventory or when the stock becomes zero (either in your SAP or physically in the warehouse) and then you do an adjustment.

We purchase fasteners. The supplier weigh counts them to send to us. The supplier ships in what they believe to be 1,000 but in reality it was 996. How do we manage the inaccuracy of weigh counting?
