Hi

while generating master template, i will generate concerned derived roles.(Icon) in pfcg.

My doubt is how these roles are derived from master template role.

How to find a derived role, related to which master template role?

Hi Krishna,

To your second question of how to find a derived role to a master template.

1. Take the child role and in PFCG display mode, and in Description Tab you would see the Transaction inheritance, where the Master role is inputted there.

2. CTRLSHIFTF3 would provide you the list of all child roles assigned to tthat master role.

Hope this info helps.

Sri

Helo Ranakrishnan,

In PFCG when you are creating a role says role A then in tabstrip description you will find an input field: Derive from role under transaction inhertance. Now if suppose you give a role A as input then all the transactions present in role A will come in the menu of role B: Role A will be the parent role and role B will be the child or derived role.

Apart from transactions authorization objects along with non organizational unit values (for example values of activity) present in A will also be populated in role B. For organization specific vaues you need to do maintainenece in role B explicitily. Also In case some authorization objects have been manually added in role A then they will not come automatically in role B and can be added by saving the role and using the copy option. All this you will find when you go to expert mode for profile generation under tabstip authorizations.

When you make changes to role A and use generate derived roles then these changes will be transferred to the derived role B also. Otherwise they wont be.

Next question how to find derived roles.

Go to SE16. Give AGR_DEFINE as role name. In the selection screen you will have two input fields for ROLE. In order to find derived roles for any role give the role name in second input field for role and then execute.

You will get a list of all derived roles for any role if they exist.

Please award points accordingly.

Regards.

Ruchit.
