How can you do UD for POs which are closed / irrelevant of status

Dear Experts,

I am having a peculiar requirement. Here, PO is closed. but They want to do UD for the inspection lot. The requirement is UD can be done irrespective of PO status. I checked the QS51 tcode for stock screen background field. But unchecking of it does not help. Currently, while doing UD, system throws error Goods movement not allowed. To incorrect posting to unrestrict. use stock. Kindly help.

Did you resolve this yet? It can be a few things depending on your design. Is this the only lot this happens for?

First, the PO being closed really should have nothing to do with this.

I suspect you have a disconnect between what you want to do with the stock, (i.e. the movement type configured for the UD code), and what has already happenned to the stock.

The newer stock postings in newer versions also includes batch status changes. if you used a choice specifiying the batch status but aren't using batch status you could have a problem.

Also, if the stock went to unrestrcited directly but created an inspection lot requiring stock posting, and then you consumed any or all oif that material before the UD, (i.e. issued to a process order for instance), you MUST post an amount equal to what was consumed to unrestricted stock even though you wish to move it too blocked stock. Because it was consmed from UR, you must post that qty to UR from the inspection lot. If the material is still in UR, you can have the lot pull from UR and post to blocked stock if you configured the right movement type in conifguration to the stock posting lines of the UD.
