Hello SAP Folks,
I am facing a strange issue while projects creation. Two projects got created by descendingnumber. For example if coding mask is A-XX. The project should be created as A-01 the next project as A-02 and so on. But here the project got created as A-01 then A-03 and after sometime when another project was created after long time its proj def wa A-02. Is this inconsistency in the numbering possible. As I believe in standard SAP the coding mask calculate the next available number in ascending order. Don't know how this thing happened. Please give your suggestions on this.
Neha,
this can be changed intentionally by any user also. but as Ken replied, coding mask do control over format of Project ID.
thanks
Sunil

This is normal system behavior. The coding mask only controls the format of the project id, it does not assign numbers (like internal numbering does).
