Dear team

I would like to the difference between the below two different sub contracting models

Model 1 : I have created sub contracting header material Namely A1 with procurement type F30 and also created BOM for material A1. Now if create sub contracting purchase order ( type L), all the BOM components will be displayed in the purchase order . And now I do the transfer posting with movement type 541 (material provided to vendor ) . After vendor completes the work , the sub contractor delivers the header material A1. When I do GR against the sub con PO, the component stock for which I have done the 541 movement type will automatically reduced / consumed .

Q1 : Why I need to do the transfer posting ( 541 movement type)for my BOM components

Q2 without doing 541 movement type , can I able to GR against sub contracting PO?

Model 2 : Same as model 1 . In addition to model 1 , I have created sub contracting MRP area for my vendor and I assigned that MRP area to my header material A1 of procurement type F30. Also BOM is available same as model 1.

Q3: in model 2 also do I need to do transfer posting with movement type 541 for my BOM components ?

Q4 : what is the advantage of model 2 over model 1?

Thanks
