Netweaver application server 7.03 trial install problems

I've tried and failed installing netweaver application server 7.03 64bit trial for years now (literally two years). Well, here's the problem:

The installation (windows 10) worked so far, all the other users are installed, I can use the SAP Mangement console and start NSP aand so on. But, every tutorial I considered, every problem thread says that I should start sapinstgui.exe, which is supposed to be in the same folder where sapinst.exe is. But it is not. There is no file with this name on my computer whatsoever. Hence, there is no logon file. Is there a way to fix this?

So I wondered, whether I should remove everything and start over with a new download. But how to completely remove every last bit of SAP content from my computer?

Next, whenever I start sapinst.exe I am told that the installation has completed and the software-delivery GUI just shuts down.

I'd be so glad for help

  • Can you paste some screenshots? I'd love to see how do you run sapinst, what options do you choose... And one additional with the information installation has been completed.

    Best regards

    Hello Pascal,

You you can use the SAP Management Console and start the system, then SAP is already installed.

What you would need is to install / use the SAP GUI (SAP Logon) to access the system.

Have you installed the SAP GUI to connect to the SAP ABAP stack?. If not you need to install GUI. You can download SAP GUI from SMP and install it. The sapinstgui.exe was for the GUI installation and you can download the latest GUI instead of the old one. Also you can do a quick search for the file sapinstgui.exe on the system and if available use it and if not download the one from SAP.
