startsap issue

Hi,

We completed SRM upgrade from 2.0 ->>> 5 and we are getting following errors, while executing "startsap"

Checking E04 Database

-

ABAP Database is not available via R3trans

Starting SAP-Collector Daemon

-

open logfile '/usr/sap/tmp/dev_coll.tmp' failed... use stderri

09:28:13 17.03.2007 ERROR: cannot open log file /usr/sap/tmp/dev_coll.tmp

09:28:13 17.03.2007 ERROR: Make sure directory /usr/sap/tmp exists or specify DIR_PERF

09:28:13 17.03.2007 ERROR: in profile and run saposcol pf=<profile>

saposcol already running

Running /usr/sap/E04/SYS/exe/run/startdb

Trying to start E04 database ...

Log file: /home/e04adm/startdb.log

/usr/sap/E04/SYS/exe/run/startdb: Terminating with error code 16

DB startup failed

Then I started database manually (sql>startup) then ran startsap, I was able to start SAP system. But still getting few errors .

Starting SAP Instance DVEBMGS00

Startup-Log is written to /home/e04adm/startsap_DVEBMGS00.log

Instance Service on host sapdr02 started

Please tell me solution for my issue, if possible step by step.
