Solution Manager 7.2 - Enable Gateway Services clarification

Hi Experts

I am unclear with step " Enable Gateway services " in the Infrastructure preparation wizard of solution manager 7.2

Is this required only SAP Fiori and Mobile applications...By defualt any services need to be activated?..

What are the services need to be activated in case of technical and BP monitoring.

what will not work if we dont activate these gateway services.

I would appreciate all your inputs...
