Where is the BW system?

I am taking a BW course at an institute. I can log on and use the school's SAP system from my PC at home. A friend gave me three CDs of Mini SAP 6.2 and I installed the package at home. This package does not have BW in it.

How can I add BW to what I have? Is BW a separate package or it is an add in that I can download? I really can not use NetWeaver because it is Java based and requires a lot of memory and hard disk space.

Welcome to SDN....

MIni SAP will not have BW along with it...

however you can download the sneak preview of NW2004s available on SDn and that comes with BI7.0

You will not get any download / legit source for BW versions below 7.0 unless you buy the software form SAP.

I installed Netweaver and the front end. No problem at all. I log on as BCUSER/minisap but can not access BW. It says "You can only work in client 001". I log on as DDIC/minisap and get a different message.

I read on this forum about creating a user in client 001. What does a user in client 001 mean? Can some one please guide me on this one or give me a pointer to a good book or a step by step tutorial. I just want to access the BW system for now. The course I am taking is all about the BW system.
