Assets: Intercompany asset transfer

I am having a problem when doing inter-company transfer for current year acquired assets.

When transferring using transaction types 270/150 on the transfer variant i get an error for cannot retire the asset because the asset has no acquisition value, yet this asset has already been capitalized and depreciation has posted for 2 months.

Secondly, when the transfer happens with 220/153 the planned depreciation for the target company piles up the 3 months of depreciation in march yet depreciation has already posted for two months in period 1 & 2 for source company.

I don't have this problem with prior year acquired assets. period control is 01/01/01/01.

Please why the difference with current year acquired assets.

What am i missing.

Thank you

Peter,

The only thing I can think of is that you are using 01/01/2007 for the asset value date during the intercomany asset transfer.

The capitalization date for this original asset may be after 01/01/2007, which would explain why you are getting a "no acquisition value" error. Also, this could explain why you are getting a depreciation catch-up adjustment for the receiving asset in March.

Try using 03/01/2007 for the asset value date.

If this helps, assign points as a way of saying thanks.

I have an asset value date of March 1st, but this current year acquired assets are still pilling up depreciation from the depreciation start date which is either jan or feb.

This first two months depreciation has posted in the sending company code.

Assets that were acquired in prior years have posted well, why am i having a problem with current year acquired assets.

Please help

Thank you
