Discussion forums and groups

Hi,

We have a requirement to implement discussion forums and also to persist the topics and messages.

I was reading an article in SAP help.com which says we can implement discussion forums using discussion groups as a standard SAP feature. I am not sure whether the discussion topics and discussion messages are persisted when discussion groups are implemented. Can someone highlight me on this.

Hi Suresh,

Most parts of Collaboration are strongly integrated into KM. Usually each collaboration object (room, people, discussion, etc.) is a KM resource object as its backend data structure. The <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/61/5620e30359d24f83f8fbca9b362f29/frameset.htm">discussion service</a> is used to save the discussions in KM. Thus your data are persisted.
