RE-FX internal number range

Hi Experts,

Could anyone please tell me how to set up internal number range for Buildings.

We currently have a custom BAdI influencing the Building number range, but now we want to revert back to SAP internal number range. I would be grateful, if anyone could advise me how to configure the building internal number range to reset per site. Just now when I create new building, irrespective of the site, the system is grabbing the new incremental number.

Any advise will be highly appreciated. Thank you!

Hi Dorji,

the current number levels for each business entity for the assigned buildings, properties, and rental objects are maintained in the table VIBDSUBOBJNUM.

Please refer also to the documentation in IMG node for maintenance of the number range.

For buildings, properties and rental objects, the system assigns the
number per business entity when internal number assignment is used. This
number is unique within the business entity. The next assigned number
for these objects is therefore not identical with the number that is
shown here in Customizing.

Thank you very much for your reply. Yes, as per the documentation in IMG node, the number is unique within the business entity. I would like to know how can I have the same building number in different entities or how to reset the building numbers for different sites/entities.

For example, (currently we are testing in Sand-box) :

The Site or Business Entity is the top most level of the architectural hierarchy. The number assignment is automatically global for this object type. Only at the Site/Business Entity we have a custom number range maintained in SNRO.

Now for the next level the Building, I am not able to figure out how to update the settings so I can have Building 1 and Building 2 in the two different sites. The Global NA indicator is unchecked for the building, but irrespective of that, when I create Buildings in different sites, the building number exists only once throughout the client and for all sites and not able to create same Building Number for different sites.

Your response and help will be greatly appreciated.

Hi Dorij,

I see that you are talking about architectural objects. In this case please refer to the online documentation in the "Number Assignment" tab that explains how the number assignment works for the different levels.

Hope this helps. If you still have questions afterwards you may come up with an example to illustrate your requirement.
