Version SAP GUI 7.3 patch 14 with BEx7 patch 9

In BEx7 version, we are not able to use * in the exclude selection

Project Definitions where we exclude all: “E-NP*” and “E-FC*CA*
Partner Objects where we exclude all: “100000000038*

We tried to accomplish this in the new BEx 7 using “ranges” to exclude within a selection criteria; however, it’s not intuitive, prone to errors as well as being very long to define within your set of parameters while attempting to refresh a query.

For example, to accomplish “E-FC*CA*” in BEx 3.5,
we have, in BEx 7, to obtain the equivalent result as above, to input:
exclude range E-FCA00000 to E-FCAZZZZZ
exclude range E-F0CA0000 to E-FZCAZZZZ
exclude range E-F00CA000 to E-FZZCAZZZ
exclude range E-F000CA00 to E-FZZZCAZZ
exclude range E-F0000CA0 to E-FZZZZCAZ
exclude range E-F00000CA to E-FZZZZZCA
