Hi guys

We have a situation where a PO created by User A requires approval from User B and user C.

The PO should be printed at the printer located by user A after everyone has approved it.

However, the PO remains in the Spool as unprocessed after the final release by user C and it never gets printed.

Please help.

Thanks

When I go to communication methods, The print immediately check box is unchecked in this case after User C releases the PO. I don't know why that happens.

If the same user A creates a PO which does not need any approvals, then that Print Immediately check box is checked and the PO gets printed correctly

I just checked purchasing documents in my system, documents in various statuses of a release process, from just started over some release done but still blocked to final release done. And all had the immediate print indicator active. The only difference to your scenario is that we use network printers instead of local window printers.

So I cannot confirm that this indicator would be removed in case of a release strategy.

Hi,

Sorry for the delayed response. What we found out is that the final user was not authorized to access the printer. So whenever the PO had a release strategy leading up to that user, it would not print even if he/she approved.

SAP Security team assigned the printer to his role and now it prints correctly.

I appreciate everyone's help and feedback.

Thank you so much

Please check with the messages; Usually Output type NEU is configured for PO. You check first in your case; what output type is used.

Check for its log..

Yes the out type is NEU in my case.

It wont,

ME9F is the tcode for you to print the Message Output.

As you explained me the scenario:

Print Immateriality will work if PO is released at same time when created ( no approval is involved) as PO instance is active & created by same person.

In your case

User A creates its , B & C approves it.

Print automatically will become inactive; because to print it out & same time its not necessary User A is logged in. & A user Printer is not defined in SAP. Its get accessed when A is active and logged in Using Locl , so that its desktop printer can be accessed.

User can access ME9F and perform this activity.

Hi,

thank you for the info. So in this case, once User B and then C approves the PO, User A will have to go to ME9F and then print it from there?

Also, how would the user A know that user B and C both have approved the PO?

Thanks

Yes. User A has to go to ME9F to print.

Thank you Anand.

I still want to understand that how would the user A know that all the parties in the release procedure has approved the PO?

Does he have to periodically check to see if the PO is released by all?

In the PO workflow, add a step to send email notification to the workflow initiator or person who creates the PO to notify when PO is released.

So when PO will be released, PO creator will be notified.

Thank you for the clarification.

I will do some testing on these and confirm

Add Step Send Mail at the end of workflow; when PO is approved, Define the subject and email contents

I think SAP Standard will prints at printer assigned to user last approved and not to the printer of initiator. We also have the same issue.

Hi,

For me,the POs never get printed at any location after the last approver releases it. So not sure if there is a personal settings that prevents it from printing at the printer assigned to the last approver

Thanks

Hi,

Sorry for the delayed response. To me it seems that the PO shall print at the printer designated to the originator of the PO. We have approvers sitting at different geographical areas so if the PO is not printed at the local printer of the originator then it would be an issue. Fortunately, it does print at the desired printer.

For our case, what we found out is that the final user was not authorized to access the printer. So whenever the PO had a release strategy leading up to that user, it would not print even if he/she approved.

SAP Security team assigned the printer to his role and now it prints correctly.

Thank you for your feedback
