Posting run

Please clarify.

If I do the simulation run for my depreciation for Feb, I see the amount posted is not exactly the same as was posted in Jan. Why should there be a difference. No changes were made to my Assets. My logic says the total I posted last month must be the same as what I see as been posted on the run for February.

How big is the difference? I know that sometimes it just can't make equal amounts right to the decimal so it sometimes makes it different. But if it is really different then see if the amounts are less and less as you go to the end of the year. This second difference can be due to the setup of the depreciation key.

The difference is the amount of one Asset, which was fully utilized, which is why it does not appear on the simulation for the current period.

My question is how come when I run AFBP for Jan, the amount to be posted is R 1 000 000. But running the simulation for Feb, it shows that the amount Posted Previously is less the amount of the Asset that was completed, R 900 000.

Shouldn't AFAB show that previously R 1 000 000 was posted, same as AFBP, instead of discarding the completed asset?

Maybe if you can explain the columns displayed on the two transactions.
