Can I just install ABAP Server for Solution Manager 7.2, no JAVA server?

Hello Experts,

Now I successfully installed ABAP server for Solution Manager 7.2. Do I must install Java Server for Solution Manager 7.2? Since I found during SOLMAN_SETUP, there are many steps need Java stack info, like DA have to use JAVA message server to communicate with server.

Please help me as soon as possible. Many thanks for your help.

Hi,

yes, Java Instance is required to have fully operational Solution Manager system. Without Java stack you don't have for example SLD, which is very important part of Solution Manager.

Hi Bartosz,

Thank you very much very much for your answer. I will install Java stack. I have another question for this. Could java stack hava different version with abap stack, for example Abap stack is SP04, but Java stack is SP02?

No, both systems have to be on the same level. You can check my blog on how to plan the Solution Manager installation:

Hello All,

I'm stuck at 98% while installing SOLMAN 7.2 ABAP Stack (Windows Server 2016 Standard / ASE), please find the screenshot. 2019-01-29-13-01-56-greenshot.jpg 2019-01-29-13-21-57-greenshot.jpg

I've tried creating a JAVA stack keeping the ABAP stack installation on hold but in the define parameters, the java user details, instance, client details, etc are asked to input in order to go further. I've also tried uninstalling the ABAP stack completely and started the JAVA stack installation but still stuck at the same point.

Am I missing anything? I've used all the latest version of ASE, Kernel, SWPM and OS is also compatible.

Appreciate if anyone could have a look at it.

Thanks and Regards,

Manju.

you need to install abap first then java, as we need to create j2ee_adm_SID user after abap installation through su01 in abap system.

J2EE_ADM_<SID> need for java installation.

Hello Alex,

Yes, you must install both the SAP Solution Manager 7.2 ABAP system and the SAP Solution Manager 7.2 Java system. They run on separate instances now, but still work together:
