FP_JOB_OPEN issue with local printer

Hi,

as it is shown in this archieved topic https://archive.sap.com/discussions/thread/2114034 I currently have the same issue while starting a job using the "LOCL" printer.

Because of testing an Adobe Form and because of protecting the environment from unnecessary pollution I want to print some documents on local printer, which is set as an PDF creator.

Starting jobs with FP_JOB_OPEN and a real printer works successfully. If I wanna choose the LOCL printer the obove mentioned FUBA throws an excepton with system error.

Does anybody have a solution or an idea why the function crashed?

Regards

Oliver

Hi, see SAP note 685571 about this. I suppose LOCL uses a Windows device type like SAPWIN or SWINCF.

All Windows device types cannot be supported with the Adobe technology alone. You have two options here:
If the printers addressed via SAPWIN understand the same printer language e.g. PCL, you can assign a PCL XDC file to the Windows device via report RSPO0022. SAP then generates a PCL print data stream for each print.

If SAPWIN addresses a mixed printer landscape that does not support a common printer language, you can assign a PDF XDC file to the Window device type and use the SAPPDFPRINT described in SAP Note 1444342. SAP then generates PDF data that is printed on the printer by SAPPDFPRINT.

    Regards, Aidan
