Unable to synchronize MI Client with MI Server

Former Member

HI Himanshu Limaye here.

I completed WAS installation- MI Server upto SP 15 and downloaded the MI client patch SP13 along with the setup.(OS independent-full version).

I proceeded with the Tomcat setup of MI Client, which was successful. I created a user, similar to the one present on the MI server.

When I started the synchronization procedure , the following Synchronization Log was generated:

Connection to server successful.

Connected to :"URL"

Inbound data transfer started.

Could not generate CONVERSATION ID: Internal Error

Please provide some guidance at the earliest.

Thanks

Hi Himanshu

Please implement notes 1001292 and 984207 in the MI middleware and this might definitely solve your problem. Make sure you follow the steps mentioned in the note correctly. Hope this helps.

Hi Himanshu,

The notes mentioned by Siva are needed to initialize the number range object. This number range object called MEREP_M4 is used to generate the conversation id. As this number range object is not initialized in your system, the conversation id is not getting generated.

As you are on SP15 & this note is not valid for your release, I suggest a workaround. You can execute MEREP_PD which will initialze the number range object.

To have a look whether this object is initialized or not, please go to the transaction SNUM & specify the number range object as MEREP_M4.

Please let me know if this solves your problem.

Regards,
