hdb_old Folder

Hi All.

The system Status report from the RSP flagged that one of the partitions use is over 85%.

Below is the disk usage for the that path:

I have two questions:
1. Will clearing the trace files resolve the issue RSP is picking up. The size of the trace folder is 285.9 MB.

2. Under /usr/sap/HDB/exe/linuxx86_64 folder is a hdb_old folder linked to the previous revison folder HDB_1.00.102.05. Can this folder be moved to another location. Or will it impact negatively?

Any help is always appreciated and welcome.

Thanks all. :))

    1. you can clean the logs using hana studio, in the diagnostics tab of the administration page. do a backup of these in case. some will be recreated automatically and it's ok. you might want to delete the crash log, oom, trc first, and the backup.log as these are the one that takes space

    2. delete these directory. when you first installed hana, you installed rev 102.03. Then you later upgraded it to 112.05 . when you upgrade the db, old software is not deleted but left there for you to easily rollback if needed. after you confirm that the upgrade is done with success and everything still work, you should delete the symlink hdb_old, the old exe folder and the old afl plugin folder. You can leave them there but at the end they only take more space.
