Hello Guys:

We have this situation, we are doing uploads for Costcenters amt into SEM cubes, we already have copied the actuals into plan for period 1-3 and want to keep that amt. But when uploading this month we want to upload only for period 4-12, we have upload overwrite functionalities. we want to lock those 1-3 period and upload for the rest for a particular version.

When we did the testing when I was doing the testing I locked the period char for 1-3 but it's locking me for all...I know I we can do this by giving the value for the period on the planning level 4-12 but just don't understand how can I do this my data slice.

1. IS there other user locking the folder?

2. What do you have in the planning level? you must have 1 to 12.

3. You can include version, but that should not matter.

Hi Ravi;

I just dont' understand why this is not working, on the level I have period 1-12 and in the dataslice, I am trying to lock for 1-3 and load the data but it's locking it for the all period. Do I have to maintain this Posting Period to a certain table in BPS to have this functionalities.

I dont see any other reason.

Are you using multi planing area and check if this area is used in any other multi ares.

There is one more work around for this.

First delete the data and then you copying.

Create a data slice based on period and enter 1-3 to be locked. Go to the planning area, data slice and look for the period characteristc and enter 1 to 3. Save the model.

That's what I did, and it's locking for all periods and that's my questions initially. Not sure why it's locking it for all periods eventhough I did the dataslice for 1-3, is it because of the version? Here is my scenatios:

Trying to upload for

Period: 4-12

Version: test

Dataslice: 1-3

But it's still locking it for all periods.
