Hello frends,
Probably I have a very strange question but no matter....
I made a <b>lockal</b> Installation of 4.6C System (Central Instance and DB together) on the Server which is a member of our Domain. This is a new 'empty' installation of SAP R/3. Is it possible to set up it as Domain-Instalation now?
Due to Lockal installation I have two lockal users <SID>adm and SAPService<SID>. Is it enough to create the users as Domain-Users?
I will be very pleased for any information about that.
Best regards
Vladimir
well, it is not sufficient to create the domain users, there are a lot of other steps to do:
- Creating Domain Users
- Creating Domain Groups
- Assigning User to Groups
- Create / Copy User Environment for Domain Users.
- change service definitions to use Domain Users
- change sap environment user to domain user
- in newer SAP versions (>700) you also need to set security on Registry,
Services, Cluster Configuration, Filesystem
- depending on the database vendor additional steps may be necessary (for Oracle create OPS$ accounts, SAPUSER Table, assigning password to SAP database user, filesystem security on some oracle specific directories).
All those steps where done during a homogenious system copy using Backup/restore procedure. Therefore I strongly recomment to use this one.

You need to change both service users and the OPS$ user (in case you use Oracle). Additionally you will need to change the ACLs on the files under \usr\sap to reflect the domain settings. There are also some registry keys which must be adapted.
Since this can be quite complicated the best approach would be to reinstall.
