Hi,

>> I am a technical consultant with 4yrs of experience.

As Prasad has mentioned that if you have knowledge of ABAP, it is going to help you a lot as many terms of ABAP is used inside XI.

>> What sort of pre-requisite knowledge is required to make the most out of the course ?

Knowledge of JAVA (J2SE) is required. It will help you to understand the architecture/sturucture of XI. It is also required when you will need to do the JAVA message mapping.

Knowledge of ABAP(but not required), in addition of some commonly used terms of SAP such as IDOC, EDI, BAPI, and many more.

Having information about various Adapters.

Know the basics that why do we need XI, why not other middleware, it will make your interest in learning XI.

Knowledge of XML as all the data transfered through XI is in the form of XML and about WSDL.

I think having this much knowledge will be sufficient as pre-requisites. Although start going through the links as Chandra Sekhar has given in his reply and you will come to know what more you need to learn.

On which technology ? SAP related ? ABAP it will sure help you lot

>> <b>pre-requisite knowledge </b>

--- ABAP basics and Cross applications and this will make your course very

easier and remember XI will be used 99% only with SAP system

landscapes

Mostly SAP to Non SAP

SAP to SAP

--- Core Java will really help you and basics are enough

--- EJB will be useful to write modules but not mandatory

--- XML,SOAP will help you to understand XI well because in XI all are
