What is LSMW???? pl explain

Hi,

Legacy System Migration Workbench(LSMW) is a tool for Uploading the Data into SAP.

Can you tell me which is better BDC or LSMW ??

BDC is used for Master and Transactional data.

Where as LSMW is used for Master data only.

In BDC programming code is required.

Where as in LSMW no coding is used.

Cost wise and time wise LSMW is Better than BDC.

ie LSMW takes less time and less cost.

We found at our company that LSMW was a nightmare! The documentation to go through is obscene. We have another project to import data from an excel sheet into the SAP system on a regular basis and we will be coding it this time around to save on time.

Just my personal opinion of course. Coding or LSMW will require knowledge of SAP - just in defferent areas.
