Project settlement

Hi SAP experts,

I have a question related to project settlement.

Whenever I post journal entry in SAP , i need to run project settlement rule ( CJB1)and actual settlement (CJ8G). If I don't do that then the journal entry does not get reflected in cost center. Every project is associated with a WBS element and when I post the entry I post it using WBS element (which in turn has cost center associated with it) but the effect of journal entry does not get seen until in do project settlement using above T- codes.

My question is; is there any way I can automate the project settlement part and the effect of journal entry can get reflected immediately without running these project settlement rules and actual settlement.

Please let me know .

Thanks,

Vipula

You should only need to run CJB1 once to create the settlement rule on the PS object. Once the settlement rule is created it is saved as part of the object.

Settlement is a periodic (month end closing) activity. WBS elements and Cost Centers are both cost objects which can hold costs. Settlement clears the costs from the WBS and moves them to the receiving object. This is usually only required monthly or periodically.

You can't have settlement run for every posting but would have to schedule a job to run it.
