Hi,
I have created a variable in BPS of type characteristics and replacement type User defined values. The check on 'Input allowed by user is set'. But in the Web Interface I cannot select more than one value for this variable.
Can somebody tell why is that and is there a way of selecting multiple values or a range for the variable in the web interface.
Thanks
Vanya
HI Vanya,
I will be curious to know how the record is being created when users enter data in the layout. Which value does the system pickup if there are multiple values in the header?

Hello Vanya,
In BPS layouts, as mentioned by others, you cannot have multiple values in the header.
However there are a couple of options.
1. The users selects one value at a time, as the variable is set with "input allowed by user".
2. The users are assigned values, and they do not have the option of free input, however, they will have the option of selecting one value at a time, by using the option, next combination. else they can use the dropdown box and select from the values assigned to them.
Hope this helps.

Hi,
Thanks!!
But even if you change the appearance to helpinput that does not allow multiple values.
Unfortunately I cannot put the characteristic in the lead column.
It has to be in the header, it allows multiple options in the header if the layout type is excel. I am not bale to understand why it does not allow in the web with the same setting.
Cheers
Vanya

Hi Vanya,
You would need to restrict the layout Header with a single value only, as multiple values are not handled hence you will not get the option to select multiple values.
If you need to use multiple values suggest make that Characteristic a Lead Column in the layout and then assign the multiple values in the Planning level/Package
Hope it helps

Change Appearance property of variable selector in BPS_WB to something like "helpinput"
