Hi all,
I am unable to see alerts in my alert inbox.
An error occurred in the Adapter Engine, and an alert was reflected in CCMS - SAP J2EE Monitor Templates - All System - <sid> - J2EE Application - <SID> - SAP XI Adapter Engine - System Errors - XI_J2EE_ADAPTER_ENGINE - General Error
I've created an alert category, and set the fixed recipient lists - included my user as one of the recipients.
I've created an alert rule, with "No Restriction" set for the option "Where did the error occur", and tied this rule to the alert category I created.
My message passed through the Integration Engine successfully, but failed in the adapter engine (because I purposely set the SOAP Receiver URL as an invalid URL).
But I did not see any alerts in my alert inbox.
I notice there is an option "Subscription" in "Alert Inbox".
But when I click on that, I do not see any alert categories which I can subscribe to.
Also, I do not have SICF:
/sap/bc/bsp/sap/alertsubscription
/sap/bc/bsp/sap/alertpersonalize
/sap/bc/bsp/sap/alertpersonalize_rules
I'm not sure if they are related.
Please help.
Thank you.
Best Regards,
Ron
Hi,
See as a end user , you need not have any authorisation. But adminstration purpose you should have alert roles to your user id.

Hi Chilla,
What roles do I require and for which function?
FYI, I did alerts configuration in RWB using the user "PIRWBUSER".
When I log in as PIRWBUSER to view the alert Inbox, I do not see any alerts.

Wee,
did activate the Alert in RWB.
did select adapter engine errors in RWB for triggering alters.
Check if you scheduled the report SXMSALERT_PROCESS_DATA_GET as a background job.

Sreeram,

If you mean End to End Monitoring, this is not needed as XI alert framework was decoupled from End to End Monitoring from SP 14.

This report need not be scheduled from SP 14 onwards. Same reason as above.

Once again, this blog has lost its relevance after SP 14.

Hi,
If you have assigned yourself to the Alerts as Fixed Recipients, you need not subscribe to them.
A few things you need to check,
1. Log on to your XI server, go to ST22 , make the user id as * and see if there are any Dumps. Make sure that the time is around the time in which the error occured.
2. If there are no dumps, try to make a error in your mapping and see if integration engine alerts are triggered.
3. If integration engine alerts are triggered and adaptrer engine are not getting triggered, go to alert rule , and in where did the error occur, for the time being ,make the error as Adapter Engine and select you adapter and see if it works.

Hi,
I did the steps above:
1. ST22 - No dump available.
2. I created a mapping error. The error was reflected in the CCMS - XI Monitor Set - Exchange Infrastructure -PI1 - IEngine - System Errors
But no alert is received in my alert inbox.
May I know what went wrong?
Please help.
Thanks.

Ron,
Are you using CCMS for Alerts? Have not worked on CCMS and so I am not sure how to proceed further. But, one question which I am asking myself is ,
1. Normally alert from Alert Inbox are forwardd to CCMS, and it is strange that you do not have an Alert in Alert Inbox but you get tyhe Alert in your CCMS.
2. Does having CCMS in your landscape affect Adapter Engine Alert or XI's own Alert framework.
Maybe someone can answer these questions as well.

Bhavesh,
Thanks for your help so far.
I tried to trigger an alert manually by running report "RSALERTTEST" on the NON-Monitoring client (001), and I am able to receive the alert in my alert inbox.
Until now, all my CCMS configurations are done in client 000.
My alert category definition is done in client 001.
I'm not sure how to proceed forward now.
Regards,
Ron
