Adding characteristic to DataSource not possible (Characteristic xxx does not exist)

Dear Experts,

In order to get classification data into BW system I have to regenerate an already existing classification DataSource.

I created the characteristic with transaction CT04 and assigned it to the class using transaction CL02. So far everything works fine. The class type is 002 (EQUI) and I am also trying to add the characteristic to a DataSource which is based on 0EQUIPMENT_ATTR.

Now when I want to add the characteristic to the DataSoruce using transaction CTBW I get the following error message: "Characteristic xxx does not exist" (Message No. CLBW013).

Fun fact: when I try the same on our sandbox system everything is working fine. It can't be related to the rights system because I also tried with SAP_ALL.

Can someone guide me? Thank you very much.

Hi;

Do you have more than 1 Client link to your DEV system?

Usually this can happen if there is one DEV Client for pure development and other DEV Client with few data.

If this is the case in CTBW, in Client of 0EQUIPMENT_ATTR select the "DEV Client for pure development".

You are right. The classifications was added in the wrong Client.
