Hi all,
How save the project created in project planning board in baseline for further tracking the project and how progress to be achieved at a future particular date can be viewed well before the start.
Rgds,
Pradeep
Hi Pradeep ,
the most simple\best way to fullfill this requiremenet is to use the forecast dates.
After the planning is fixed, you can copy the the basic dates to the forecast, so that you can have a baseline for the planning. This copy functiona is avaiable in the menu edit -> reconcile dates -> copy basic to forecast.
The best thing of using this function is, that you can let both set of days displayed in the graphic, so that you can compare the baseline (forecast) with progress of the project (basic dates).
Other possibility is to use project version, to make a snapshot. But i do not like it personally, at least not for the progress purpose.
Please reward points, if it is helpful.
Kind regards,
Zhenbo

Hi Zhenbo Wang,
Thanks for the reply.
Please confirm me whether we can save two or more baseline dates in the similar way and project planning board should display all the 2 baseline dates and next forecast dates. I want to know what will be my extended future completion date for the project.
Next is regarding the second question. How to find out the progress required to be achieved with in the particular future date.
Rgds,
Hi Zhenbo Wang,
I want to find out the target progress to be achieved by some date say 15th of a month as per my project plan. i.e, the list of activities to be completed within this stipulated period. Is it possible to get displayed the list of activities separately & resources required to complete the same in some tabular or diagramaticaly form.
Next where can i find the likely completion date of the complete project during tracking.
Rgds,
Pradeep
Hi Pradeep,
As far as I know, there is no direct way to get it.
You can try with the CN41, a report from PS information system. After input the project\network, which you would like to see the progress, let the involved dates fields get displayed. Then using the set filter button, to let the objects, which are in defined time periods get displayed.
Hope, it works for your business case.
Kind regards,
Zhenbo
we can create the version of the project and can be used as baseline
