Hello Hemanshu Gupta,
What is the exact dispatcher do you mean? The dispatcher of the ABAP stack or the dispatcher of the JAVA stack.
If the problem occurs in the dispatcher of the ABAP stack, report here the errors of dev_disp trace file.
If the problem occurs in the dispatcher of the JAVA stack, report here the errors of dev_dispatcher trace file.
Best regards,

Hello Hemanshu,
The log file for the J2EE Dispatcher is dev_dispatcher. In that file you could see:
[Thr 5960] Tue Feb 13 15:16:41 2007
[Thr 5960] JLaunchISetState: change state from [Starting (2)] to [Running (3)]
This means that the dispatcher was started successfully. A little bit latter in the log you could see:
[Thr 1692] Tue Feb 13 16:24:19 2007
[Thr 1692] JLaunchRequestFunc: receive command:17, argument:0 from pid:6800
[Thr 1692] JLaunchIShutdownInvoke: set shutdown interval (stop:1171405459/end:1171405579/TO:120)

[Thr 3112] JLaunchISetState: change state from [Running (3)] to [Waiting for stop (4)]

Command 17 means regular shut down by request.
The ABAP dispatcher controls (starts/stops) the j2ee engine by starting the jcontrol process, which starts jlaunch processes for the dispatcher, server and the sdm nodes. Therefore if there is problem with the ABAP dispatcher, for example dies the J2EE also will die. Unfortunately the log from the ABAP dispatcher dev_disp is from different period than the dev_dispatcher. The first entry there is from Sat Apr 07 16:27:25 2007 which is after the j2ee dispatcher was shut down. This means that the ABAP dispatcher was stopped and then started on Sat Apr 07 16:27:25 2007 which also means that the J2EE Engine was stopped and started.
I have two suggestions:
1. Check the license of the ABAP.
2. Make sure all instance parameters are set correctly as described in note 741289.
If the above doesnt help please paste the content of dev_disp and dev_dispatcher again but from the same time period.

Ventsi Tsachev

Hello Hemanshu Gupta,
As Ventsi told above:
Command 17 means regular shut down by request.
So, you really should check the dev_disp trace file from the same moment.
But what I would like to add is that, when you don't know the real cause of the shut down, it's really helpful to check the std_dispatcher.out and jvm_dispatcher.out trace files. Sometimes, these traces show important information that can help you to discover why the dispatcher was shut down.
This is also valid for the server nodes.
Best regards,
Rafael Toshiaki

Hi Hemanshu,
Check your services related to WAS and Oracle. They should be Automatic and started.
